The University of Dallas Drama Department is thrilled to announce the fall mainstage will be The Seagull (1895) by Anton Chekhov directed by Associate Prof. of Drama, Kyle Lemieux. Profoundly funny and deeply moving in equal measure, The Seagull examines our obligations to our family, ourselves, and finally, our Art. Do not miss Chekhov's masterpiece this coming fall inspired by Chekov's own call for "new forms!"
A person committed to the study of theater within the framework of a liberal education must be prepared to work toward two goals: first, a thorough competence in the basic skill of dramatic expression and interpretation; and concurrently, a view that comprehends dramatic art as it relates to, expresses, and extends the surrounding culture.
